For your application to the BALLER LEAGUE

  1. Responsible party, contact and data protection officer:

The responsible party in terms of data protection law is Baller League UK Limited, Julco House Great Portland Street, W1W 8QT London (“we”). Our data protection officer can be reached at the email address dataprotection@ballerleague.uk.

  1. Data categories, processing purposes and legal basis:

We process the data that you have provided for your application, such as your name, address, mobile phone number, email address, photo, football club and achievements and other information about you. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk. All of the information you provide will be used exclusively as part of the application process.

The data processing is carried out for the purpose of processing your application, in particular also for contacting you. The lawful basis for this processing is the performance of our contract with you.

Where you have consented, we may also send you marketing communications. The lawful basis for this processing is consent. You can opt-out of marketing at any time by [clicking the unsubscribe link in an email you have received, or by contacting info@ballerleague.uk.

  1. Further data: If you participate in the BALLER LEAGUE Community Cup Event, more comprehensive data processing may take place, in particular of health data. A separate data protection notice will apply to this, which we will bring to your attention in advance.
  2. Recipients and categories of recipients:  We may disclose your personal information to the following types of third parties:
  • our technology and other service providers who provide the application platform
  • analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our website and products;
  • companies who assist with our marketing, customer surveys and feedback tools; 
  • third parties who help us detect fraud or criminal activity; and
  • our group companies.

We may also need to disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:

  • if we are required to do so by law or pursuant to a binding regulatory request (in each case, such disclosure will be solely to the extent required by law or the applicable regulatory request);
  • in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets we may be required to disclose certain of your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or
  • in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements.]
  1. International data transfer: Personal data will be transferred to the EU but will not be transferred to a third country outside the European Union other than the UK.
  2. Storage period and deletion: Your applicant data will be deleted no later than 6 months after notification of the participants of our BALLER LEAGUE Community Cup Event, unless you are one of the selected participants. In this case, data processing is carried out on the basis of our participant contract or where you have explicitly consented to it and will be subject to a separate data protection notice which we will provide in advance. If you do not accept the invitation to the event or do not show up, the data will be deleted no later than 6 months after the event.
  3. Your rights: In accordance with applicable data protection law, you have the rights set out below under (a) – (f), in addition to the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority and the right to withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent). You can exercise these rights free of charge. The only time we may charge a reasonable fee is where your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances. Otherwise, we will always respond within one month (unless there is a legal reason for us to take longer). 

If it is not clear to us who is making the request, we may ask you to confirm your identity before we proceed.

Please note that not all of these rights are absolute and we will provide reasons where we are not able to comply with a request.

  1. Right of access: You have the right to request confirmation from us whether data is being processed about you and to receive a copy of that data. This also includes the right receive details of the purposes of the processing and the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed.
  2. Right to rectification: You have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you and/or the completion of incomplete personal data.
  3. Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): If the relevant conditions are met, you can request that the personal data concerning you be erased.
  4. Right to restriction of processing: If the relevant conditions are met, you can request that the processing be restricted. In this case, the personal data concerned will be marked accordingly and, if necessary, will only be processed for specific purposes.
  5. Right to data portability: If the relevant conditions are met, you have the right to data portability with regard to the personal data concerning you that you have provided to us.
  6. Right to object: Under certain circumstances, you have the right to object to the processing of personal data concerning you for reasons arising from your particular situation. This also applies to any related profiling.
